HIKING

Hiking is permitted at Penobscot River Trails in the spring, summer and fall. We have baby strollers available at our Visitor’s Center upon request. Please be respectful of bikers out on the trails.

PADDLING

Penobscot River Trails is located parallel to the East Branch of the Penobscot River. We offer Kayak rentals with PFD’s, through reservation only. We ask that you plan your trip numerous days ahead of time so that we can have our Registered Maine Guide’s on the water as well. PRT’s kayak fleet consists of all Necky Sea Kayaks – tandem or solo – all equipped with Werner paddles. If you wish to bring your own kayaking/canoeing equipment, we have a public access boat launch located at the entrance from Hay Brook. Please call (207) 746-5807 to reserve, or email: admin@penobscotrivertrails.org

Please note that upon snowmelt at Penobscot River Trails, we often experience flooding throughout the spring during high-water.
We will post to Facebook when we cannot cross the bridge into PRT due to flooding.

Penobscot River Trails does not allow the use of e-bikes on our trail system for our 2020 season.
